I hope you all are doing well. I terribly miss seeing you in class and being able to work together. Check out below for what you need for today and tomorrow! General MusicIt sounds like you had a ton of fun on the instrument scavenger hunt. I am very impressed by some of the materials you found. Now we can use some of those common items to make our own instruments! You may not have everything needed for every project posted here, and that's okay! This is an optional project. As an added challenge, you can see what other instruments you can make with what you have on hand--egg shakers, pan flutes, tambourines, rain sticks, hand drums, bagpipes.... You're only limited by your imagination! Straw Oboe This may be the simplest project. You just need two things to get going! However, it may take the most time to master. The link above will take you to a video I created. Speaking of masters, you can watch this amazing performance given on...yep, a straw! Mini Banjo Another simple project that you can easily customize. Mine is handheld. Do you have anything at home to make a larger version? A smaller one? How do the sounds compare? The link above will take you to a video I created. Best Percussion Instrument EVER Okay, maybe not ever. But this little doodad has the best of all non-pitched percussion instruments. Tiny Tim also decided to help direct this one. The link above will take you to a video I created and a sneak peak of Tiny Tim. (No, he is not fully grown yet. He isn't even a year old!) These activities fulfill one of your Bingo squares. If you wish to receive a reward, your Bingo sheets are due to me next Friday, April 10, by 7pm. RECORDERS We are beginning a Recorder Zoom where students can test for their Recorder Karate Belts, receive advice from classmates, and get individual feedback and practice with me. This is completely optional, but highly recommended. I hope to see you next Tuesday, April 7th, at the following times:
BANDKeep working on your musician biographies. If you need help finding people who played/play your instrument, let me know! We are beginning a band Zoom. This is completely optional, but highly recommended. We can work together on class music, our small ensemble pieces, or solos. I will see bands next Tuesday, April 7th, at the following times:
